Flying start for PE teacher

Warren Advocate
02 May, 2012

Stawell Sprint winner Ian Hinton moves to Warren 1864208

A new face at Warren Central School this term is Ian Hinton, who takes up a permanent position as PE teacher.

Timing couldn’t be better for school athletes set to compete in events later in the term. Mr Hinton is a keen sprinter and recently competed in the Stawell Gift; one of the world’s most famous and prestigious foot races. With a first position in the 70 metre and the 100 metre novice events, as well as being named sprinter of the carnival, he will no doubt be showing the students a thing or two about sprinting techniques.

A graduate of the Australian College of Physical Education, Mr Hinton worked at Wyong High School on the Central Coast, but Warren Central School is his first permanent position.
