Likely automatic qualifiers.

After not being represented in the 400m, there's a possibility USA may miss out on a rep in the 200m. Spearmon should get through, but he was 2m off in the heat and didn't look to be in his best shape, running 20.47. He's drawn Blake & Lemaitre so Spearmon might have to rely on a fastest qualifier spot.

Should be a cracking final between Bolt & Blake. Would be terrific to see Lemaitre finish 3rd.

This is for J Boden: Men's javelin is on the same time as Spearmon will go to his mark. Might be an omen?

First semi' Blake opened up a big lead and switched right off in the run to the line. Lemaitre just gave up too much in the first 80 and ran home strongly but Spearmon held him marginally.
1 Blake 20.01
2 Spearmon 20.02
3 Lemaitre 20.03

Second semi, Bolt came off the bend and basically bowled through. Quinonez tightened up and ran slower than his heat run to miss the automatic qualifier, but ges through with Lemaitre as the next fastest.
1 Bolt 20.18
2 Jobodwana 20.27
3 Quinonez 20.37

Third semi - Weir came off the bend in front, but the experienced Martina ran a superbly controlled race to comfortably take it out. Weir not as impressive as the heat. 33 year old Malcolm ran very well for 3rd, but misses out on the final.
1 Marrtina 20.17
2 Weir 20.28
3 Malcom 20.51
4 Mitchell 20.56

Haha Youngy, well played. He did well to compete in both events then. Should be a good final and by good I mean Bolt winning.
