With just over a month to go before the VAL season starts I thought it may be a good idea to look at the pre Christmas events. I cannot remember the last time a big gift opened the season. Congratulations to the Hastings committee who have secured a large amount of sponsorship for the first event.
Meadowglen is back this year and provides a great chance for a 200m win.
Warnnambool and Terang on the same weekend gives a real chance for some interstate wins.
Northcote has changed their name to Waverley which is probably the right thing to do as they have not been in Northcote for a number of years.
Marysville has taken over from Ararat as the final event before Christmas and may be a good opportunity for a front marker to get a win.
There are plenty of opportunities around again and with a very long season ahead who will come out and show their form early?
