Whilst I have some regret with the decision, there will be no form guide for the 2019 Bay Sheffield. I simply don't feel its appropriate to do the work necessary.

It generally takes me in excess of 20 hours every year to put it together. I do enjoy studying the form of the athletes, coming up with the quirky comments, the funny lines and puns. But there's just not the same feel about it this year.

I spoke to one of the biggest fans of the form guide(s) today and a bloke who puts in a helluva lot of time compiling the actual program, Colin Rowston, and he agreed it's best to put the form guide to bed for this year.

I've spoken to a few others who were keen to hear what I thought and I honestly can't see the point of compiling a form guide when form has become so irrelevant to the outcome and the handicaps are so volatile.

Hopefully things can settle down next year and the infamous form guide can return.

Gemm

Spewing going over from Melbourne and sitting there having a read before racing was always a huge highlight, would still love to see a handful of athletes you like and hear what you have to say

Fair call GEMM.

Maybe something unofficial for ProTrack.

We’ll see how things shape up in a couple of weeks.
