Rye Women's Diamond

After a very busy couple of weeks with quality events we move on to another fan favourite in Rye. Many notable winners at Rye, usually a tail wind and fast times.

Winner Lane

Lane is the obvious, however wanna look elsewhere, been fit and flying of late but may be a little flat here after not being able to secure a win pre christmas. Hard to find the danger, doubt it will come from behind her, we wont know till the day.

Womens Final

I think I say this every year but I really like the Rye Women's Diamond. There was nothing better than watching young Anna Deary win her third Rye Women's event. Those who were around would remember how she epitomised a back marker.

Apparently there are only three chances in this one so let's take a look.

Ebony Lane - 4.25m 21% - Lane has shown over the past few years that she is quality. Off 5.75m she ran a fantastic final at Stawell. I feel that she is a better athlete now than last year. Can she take a small lift and make another Stawell final this season. I would like to think so but am a little unsure. She will final but can she win?

Hannah Lindstrom - 9.5m 9% - What a fantastic interview young Hannah gave after her 400m win at Maryborough. Does she have the speed to challenge in a bigger final? I feel that she is a little off the speed yet but will challenge in a women's gift soon. Semi, final at best.

Karlee Bailey - 10m 9% - Bailey will make the final and will lead at some stage. Her start is dynamite compared to other women around her. She will undoubtedly make the likes of Lane work hard to get to her. I have a query about her ability to finish off a 120m race though. Final
