It is with much sadness that I advise of the death of Peter Cross and that his funeral will be held at the Lilydale Memorial Park on Wednesday 18th March at 1pm
Peter won the Stawell 550 metres in 1983 and the Stawell mile in 1985. Peter had been suffering from depression for some time.

Great competitor Peter Cross. Tough as nails regularly competing around the 400 - 800m range, during the halcyon days of pro running when, due to the big entry numbers, the 400s were often split into front and backmarkers and the limit for the fronties was only 60m.

Peter was coached by the astute Neville Walker.
