A very interesting group of runners. In the past this has been a race for a front marker with Blake, Cooper and Rosen all winning in recent years and each from a healthy mark. Last year we saw the former cheerleader do everything to take out the gift only to be thwarted by a Rampaging Rosen who had nothing better to do than win off his big mark. I like the look of this field as there seems to be some chances from the back, middle and towards the front. It could be an old fashioned gift field where many have a chance. Who really wants the metre though is the biggest question. I would doubt we will see much of Camille now!

Not a bad final there. I wonder if Rooke will beat Eschebach to the bonus metre? Eschebach off 7.5m at Easter would be a potential finalist again. Rooke has been treated very fairly since his Bendigo win off not much. Way above that now. Could we have another Rooke as a potential finalist?

Tim Rooke won Bendigo off 3.50 in 12.72. Heavy rain and track, many scratchings due to weather. Wasn't a strong year.

'Just telling it how I see it.' Heavy track and 12.72 still decent. Good luck to him, I am asking a question. To be honest I think he probably needs to get in better shape before he really threatens. Like Rosen. Wink

Same demographic voting for Tim Rosen voted for Donald Trump. Doing it for a joke not expecting him to get up.

Happy to provide assistance Trackstar. Could we have another Rooke as a potential finalist at Stawell? The other Rooke had a crack and missed out. If this Rooke gets fit and takes an early metre perhaps he is a chance. How about we all watch him closely for a while and we can each make up our own mind on that one.

As a side note, tips hopefully coming soon.

We see the return of the defending champion Rampaging Rosen at Terang this week. Nice little event with a pretty good field. Bonus metre up for grabs and the raiders are down. Who takes it?

Tim Rooke 5 - 10% - See Warrnambool post. Not in my trifecta.

Tim Eschebach 6.5 - 20% - Why would the NSW athlete come all the way down to The Bool and Terang? For a metre of course and some handy travel money. He will look good running down the track and be right in it at the end. 7.5m at Easter, yes please! I would think that he wins. He is very pretty too so I keep hearing when he runs, something for the locals then. Very Happy

Tim Rosen 12.75m - 14% - Let's be honest, it doesn't matter how many votes he gets I will probably highlight something anyway. He spoiled the tupper Ware party last season with a blistering run from the front. He is still in front. Sorry Tim but that is true. 'The Man' will probably make the final and try in this race. He is the 'Honest Runner' who posted that he always tries. Probably not always to win though. He may try to pull up or try to find another way to lose. He may try and tell people he is trying to win and try to convince the handicappers he needs more of a mark. I always tried when I completed. I tried hard to get under the radar only difference was when you had Hirst, Dunbar, Hirst or the Colonel you didn't move much at all. Good luck Tim, I hope you try hard this week and win the 70m because the mark seems to be an error, win while you can. One day we may have a beer and a pizza together, if you are eating pizza that is Wink I will speculate a little. I actually think Rosen has improved and may have the chance at winning a bigger race. He could win here, take the small hit and still have the limit at Maryborough. If not Maryborough then why not Rye or Bendigo in that next tier? Now there is a challenge for you 'King of the Gifts'!

I await these results with lots of interest.

It'll be tough to win the 70m when I am not entered Mex. If you can convince the VAL to give me a late entry for free I will drive down early just for you and race it.

I won't respond to the rest of your post because I thought you were beyond personal attacks and up for some casual banter. Clearly not!
Oh and you got my race targets wrong. I plan on doing the Stawell Gift, 200, 400 treble this year.

Tad harsh Mex, maybe Tim has beaten you in races and you have an axe to grind. Maybe you eat too many Pizzas and drink too much? Only you know that, good luck on the weekend Tim, I for one will be hoping you run well, cheers Bang Bang

If Tim gets quicker earlier, he could be competitive of the tighter mark, he tends to come back late in races. In the 70m races so far he hasn't shown enough earlier speed though.
