Recently SA world junior's rep Margaret Gayen ran a massive 100m PB in Brisbane of 11.68. This placed her sixth on the SA all time list. With Alicia Wrench-Doody in fifth position (and an 11.79 this year), it is the first time for 30 years that SA has had two sub 11.80s girls competing in the same era. Margaret will compete in the long jump at the World Junior's in Barcelona and should be in the 4 x 100m team. I can't recall a 100m race at SANTOS Stadium where a two SA girls have broken 12secs in the same event, but it's likely to happen this summer. Great for SA sprinting to have two girls well inside 12secs competing at the moment.
