THE next step in the career of four-time Olympian Craig Mottram will take him to one of the world's most famous marathons.
Mottram is targeting his debut over 42km at either the London or Boston marathon next April.
He quit track athletics after the London Games.
"I think every distance athlete wants to run a marathon and I'm no different," the 32-year-old said.
"I've always wanted to run one, and my ability on the track is not as good as it once was.
"Now's the time."
Mottram was the best of the middle distance contingent in London but failed to reach the final of the 5000m, the event in which he holds the Australian record.
