Interesting to note that Callard and Cooper did not run in the final. Was this due to an injury? Did they bring out the three sided screen Smile Notable absentee from the final in Magree. Did he run the heats JH?
Well done to Hargreaves C for picking up the win. Is there a review coming?

Gday JH

What happened to Keirnan? He was the early pick to take round 3 out.
I will wait until marks are released before making any tips, but do you think there is an early favorite?

I am pretty sure he would be able to run (Cooper that is) with the type of event it is (promotional as JH said). I think if a novice wins a race they keep their novice status for the season proper as well (I could be wrong here though)
I will be very interested with the marks for the finals.

TABCORP PARK SUPER SERIES Round 3 Friday 5th
November 2010
Round 3, the final round of the Tabcorp Park super series was another successful
night. The summary of each event is listed below.
The finals will be run this Friday night with each event carrying prizemoney of
$2,000 each.
The VAL would like to thank the organising committee of the Tabcorp Park Super
Series, (Joe Ivisic, Brant Dunshea, David Brick, Jess Tubbs) for their
continued support.
400m Open
Heat 1 was won by the Les Williams trained Mark Andrews, he ran a winning time
of 48.61. Just behind him was young runner Chris Cato who ran on well from his
backmark and filling in third position was last week's series winner Glenn Cooper.
Heat 2 was taken out by the John Henry trained Matthew Hargreaves in 48.77.
Matthew looked very impressive in his heat win and was one of the favourites to
win the final. The two other qualifiers were Craig Rollinson and Matthew Kiernan.
Heat 3 was an impressive win by the John Henry trained Chris Hargreaves, he
was the most impressive of the 3 heats and ran the quickest time of 47.69.
Essendon runner Daryl Lawrence showed some improvement to gain a start in the
final and the ever consistent Matthew Callard qualified in third position.
The 400m final had two late scratchings, Matthew Callard and Glenn Cooper. This
reduced the final to 7 runners but it was still a very keenly contested race. The
John Henry trained, Chris Hargreaves stamped his authority on the race half way
down the straight and never looked in danger. Matthew Hargreaves ran on solidly
for second place and Chris Cato was a close up third. Just off the pace were Daryl
Lawrence and Matthew Kiernan who made up the top 5.
The field has been set for final round which should be a fantastic race.
Race field is below.

1040m Open
The 1040m was run as a straight final. Tom Hecimovic was the frontmarker off
160m. He set a strong pace and had Greg Hilson sitting just off the pace coming
to the home turn. Half way up the straight Greg Hilson hit the lead and looked set
for victory but Tom "The Hitman" Hecimovic found another gear and mowed down
Greg to record victory in 2.37sec. Novice runner Andrew Thomas ran a good race
for third while Ashley Snowden and Arron Downes made up the top 5.
