You do a great job Youngy with the results ,pity Saal couldnt be a bit more punctual.
Just one thing though, if its not me it would be someone else that picks it up.
Gibbs wins SF of 70M but doesnt feature in final results

Totally agree with earlier comments by mistake.
It is very much appreciated that Youngy puts in the time & effort to make the results public in a timely manner.
SAAL used to have pre-race write ups, a programme(which is now a compulsory purchase) that was full of previews, tips & even gossip from time to time.

Now we cant even get your own race time unless you win the respective heat, semi etc...

It's not good enough when costs go up but service drops.

League types will reply with the old excuse of being too busy, however not having Pt Adelaide results up is unexceptable behaviour Evil or Very Mad

Sims leads the way at PreBay

26 year old decathlete Jarrod Sims won his first race with the SAAL when he convincingly won the 120m PreBay gift at Colley reserve on Sunday.

Sims, only recently resumed running with the SAAL after focussing solely on the decathlon where he is currently ranked second in Australia.

Running off the novice mark of 7.0m and wearing the backmarker’s red colour, Sims won by a metre from Jordan Tronnolone (8.0) with Ben Koschade (7.25) just behind in 3rd place. Koschade sustained an injury in the final preventing him from running in the 70m semi finals which were scheduled after the Gift final. It is the 2nd consecutive year Koschade has suffered an injury at the meet.

Flinders’ athlete Rob Killmier, running off the backmark of 26m, was a brilliant winner of the 550m, rounding the field with a 100m to go. Killmier seems to be in career best form, coming off an impressive run over 800m at the Zatopek 10 in Melbourne, where he finished a close 4th in 1-51.1.

Camden’s Matthew Cousins continued his good from from Mt Gambier where he won the 400m to finish 2nd to Killmier with Flagstaff’s Ben Crawford in third place.

In the women’s events, Amy Robb won the 70m/550m double indicating strongly she will be in strong contention for these races at the Bay Sheffield carnival. In the 70m Robb defeated training partner Tamara Dartnall and Grange beach sprinter Natalie Gibbs and in the 550m she won by 10m from backmarker Bridgid Connolly and Camden’s Lauren McHugh.

The Pete Burdett trained Sam Osmond won a junior double winning both the U/17 70m and the U/20 120m. Osmond held off backmarkers - Brett Richards (U/17 70m) and Jordan Caldow (U/20 120m).

Caldow’s performance was one of the outstanding runs of the carnival, running 12.79 from the very tight handicap of 2.0m. Conceding 10.50m to the winner, Caldow was less than a metre away as they crossed the line. The 17 year old beach sprint champion launched himself into Bay Sheffield calculations recently when he ran 10.83 for 100m in Melbourne. His performance on Sunday would have lost him no fans.

Having recently broken his novice status at Mt Gambier, Neil Thomas won his first open sash, when he narrowly beat young Jordan Caldow and Paul Taylor in the 70m.

The 1600m was won in a canter by novice athlete Wubishet Murphy, who had the race in his keeping with 2 laps to go. The promising youngster, ran 4-27.09 to beat veteran athlete Tim Callahan (2nd) while Sean Burton finished 3rd.

The 1000m Under 20’s race was won by Max Stone from Nick Beins and Connor McIvor.

Koschade looked to be one of the real favourites after his first run back at mount gambier last weekend. He still finished 3rd, how bad could the injury be?
