A big 70m always intrigues me. A Friday night meet is another thing that grabs my attention. Unfortunately the entries do not match my enthusiasm.

Apologies for not contributing towards the poll over the last couple of meets. I have been a bit jaded with our sport and what is happening in SAAL. Our sport needs each league to be strong. Think on that.

Cast your vote early. I will put something up on Wednesday or Thursday.

Antonino could win this by a metre if he wanted too, he surely has to scratch unless he wants to win it, been taking the piss for way too long

I’m predicting an all Ringwood final this week
Bailey
Ware
Burleigh
Adams
Punchihewa
Antonino

Can anyone stop them?

I reckon you're right Gemm that Antonino is the one to beat. He is running really well and has a nice mark in the 70. But there's a couple of others that won't be too far behind him. I think Adams off 6 gives it an almighty shake too. And even Bailey off 3 if he runs seems to be right there in most 70's. Ed Ware to round out my top 4 chances. So it looks like a Ringwood track domination.

The Ant will have this all sewn up with 20 to go, no dive needed this week, he will be saluting to the fan club with daylight 2nd and almost daylight when the final is run.
Also hope the umpires relay team have been working on their baton changes Go Tony

I think the Angry Ant could nearly write a book called 100 ways to lose a race. He isn’t winning this one boys. Got to be due to have a Frankston Seagull fly into his lane and hit him in the face or something like that. Surely banks his mark for Stawell now

A lot of bout Antonino but u r all forgettin Adams was in the Stawell 70 final off 6.25 not too long ago and came 2nd at Stawell same yr. Only back to 6 and looking more muscly/powerful...

If every1 runs its Adams vs Antonino for the $$$.

Feeling Dangerous after my pick saluted at Castlemaine, I believed in him way before the band wagon accounts just go back and look, cant help but feel I played some part in that win. Onya Tim great win, get the body right and go again. BTW you can send me 25% of the winnings, i'll dm you my BSB.

Westy I would agree, However Adams spends to much time doing bicep curls in the gym, thats probably what your seeing. He was a better runner back then. Antonino to take this out, generous mark the young man has.
Just gonna leave this here:
has 7 @ Wang- was his 8th tick for season (started off 6.5)
7 @ Maribynong- did not run
7 @ Parkdale - Did not run
Gets lift to 7.25 @ Ballarat......

The Ringwood fleet will be making up the numbers this week.

The Cosby sweater wearing, thunderbird arm swinging Italian 5 footer from the Eastside, will be making his final cameo appearance pre Easter.

Last 70m final ran 2nd off 4.50m, has another half and is running much better than 12 months ago.

Stawell bonus locked in, so looking for some hard racing. The 70m is arguably his best distance too.

There’ll be ego’s on the line this week in addition to the cash. Those with bigger plans than the 70 at Stawell will see this as free hit. Big show to get his lunch cut for the second week in a row. Burleigh to win from Bailey, Ant, Adams, Camille, Ware.

Numbers are not great for this Friday night down in Frank, not sure if i'll make it with work, potential live stream for those who can't make the trip?
my thoughts
Jason bailey
Good backie with chance to make another final, he loves the 70's and ran 2nd at castle. chance

Ryan camille
70m specialist off good mark here, look for him to make a statement with easter looming I suggest he will be in good nick.

matt burl
Won meado 70 to start the year off same mark, his not a great starter but a solid chance non the less.

Hamish adams
Decent mark, think he needs more though, back end is strong but cant show it in a 70.

Nic Antonino
One to beat, huge mark. I suggest he can run much better then he has been showing. 7.45s

It’ll be a day for Ringwood trained athletes difficult for anyone else to make Frankston on a Friday night.
Antonino to win if he wants it, have seen the handbrake used quite a bit this year in the 70 could be waiting for stawell or this could be his one.
Daylight second.

History is a great guide to the future when dealing with old school thinking pro's like Camille.
Has always raced sparingly and bobs up when it counts.
2013 came 4th in the Stawell Gift
2014 won the prestigeous Don Furness 70m on the way to coming 5th in the Stawell Gift.

He has locked in his Stawell Gift lift this year by winning on a slow uphill track over 100m at Daylesford.
Trained by Tom Moorehouse who trained the Chico roll to win the Frankston 70m last year on the way to emphatically winning the Stawell Gift.

'The Camel' will give this an allmighty shake before making a 3rd Stawell Gift final in April.

My 8 person final.

Dunmall 2
Bailey 3
Camille 5
Burleigh 5.75
Vi 6.25
Eddy 6.75
Antonino 7.25
Fawcett 11.25

Carter is a good outside pick Frogman. Hasn’t shown much in the short sprint this season. Hasn’t been spotted for a month, so might be sharpening up.
Scary Carey on the other hand is surely not ready for this? Nowhere near the pace at Parkdale and Wang. The Chief and co would be enjoying a nice under the tent convo if the young coach found 4-5m.

just a thought,
are we absolutely positive that the Ant is using the old handbrake?

Has to be one of the worst feelings in pain, panic and agony choking on something delicious, when you know it should be enjoyable.

Camile will be looking to stamp his mark leading into Easter. Under lights at Frankston on a Friday night The Big Show will turn it on and swoop them all.
