Anang brothers make it a quinella in the Ipswich Lightning Gift final

Nii-Adjetey Anang out sprinted his younger brother in the final of the Ipswich Lightning 110 metres Gift at the Bill Paterson oval on Sunday.
Nii-Adjetey Anang running from the 8.50 metre handicap proved too strong for his younger brother Tetteh (6.75m), the reigning National Under 20 triple jumper titleholder ,with Ardyn Foy (7.50) and Isaac Dunmall( 9.00) claiming 3rd and 4th respectively.
Anang’s winning time was 10.99 seconds.
BACKMARKERS HANDICAP
Dimunitive Isaac Wohlsen produced explosive leg speed in landing the backmarkers 110 metres with Jasper Yeuell and Ted Belcher dead heating for second .Wohlsen’s winning time was 12.04 seconds
WOMENS 100 metres Gift
Tamara Tisdall won the Womens 100 metre Gift final in an exciting final from Nikki Venardos, last season’s Fairholme winner, and veteran Michelle Mackey finishing equal second .
Tisdall ,17, said "I intend to utilise my winnings to pay off my driving licence."
Last season she finished 3rd in the National U/18 400 metres title.
Masters 300 metres
Michelle Mackey who narrowly missed line honours in the Womens 100 metre Gift showed her opponents a clean pair of heels in the Masters 300 metre final.
Mackey overran her training partner Steve Jones in the closing stages with former winner Nathan Carr picking up third.
Earlier in the afternoon Mackey snared the Ipswich Athletic Club Women’s long jump.
