Former SAAL athlete Greg Denehy has his own photography business where he specialises in sports related photos. He was at Flinders and took some fantastic pictures.

Check out the website for photos at SAAL meets.

Some good shots especially from different angles!

Is this going to be a regular occurrence?

I think it would add a nice touch to the photos and videos if they where taken from inside the track outwards to have the crowd in the background rather than an empty oval, great photos and videos though keep up the great work!

When possible I do just that. The Flinders 800m races have shots on the bend with the crowd, as do many of the circle races from last's years Bay Sheffield, even with some from inside the track. But to be honest it's difficult when the league puts the Flinders 200m feature sprint on the back straight. There's not much I can do when the crowd is on the other side of the track.

As for the video - depends on a number of things. Firstly one needs permission to video from inside the arena and secondly it depends on where the scaffolding is for the judges. It's important to get the best position possible to ensure the race is captured as well as it can without obstructions. The background is secondary to the actual event.
