Trinity 120m Women's

Smaller field this week and maybe a chance for someone to take a win that may not be up for the bigger races. Who do we like?

There is one standout here, but couldn't see her running. Based on what happened at St Albins, and the current handicap system, there is a lot to lose and very little to gain.

You can't expect to go to Trinity for a cheap tick Slowcoach. There will be a lot of scratchings. Hopefully the final is full of girls who want to win it and not those that want to queue up behind an outmarker.

Hardest final to pick is the Trinity one but here goes after the host of what I think will be scratchings I'm left with

This women's race looks on paper to be potentially a very good one. How many will run may also be interesting in light of recent developments. Increased stewarding and a low prize compared to this time next week. Could be a fronties race.

Holly Dobbyn 3.5m 18% - Hasn't she turned into a good athlete. She looks great running down the track and was always going to feature in the final at Ballarat. Didn't set the world on fire with her time but is a genuine threat if she decides to run. Will probably scratch or just miss the win in a well judged race behind some of the fronties. Final if she runs

Katie Moore 7m 13% - Interesting votes here. I have been watching Moore for a while and am unsure if she has the same speed she used to have. A good mark and if you looked at her best she would feature in a final anywhere. Yes anywhere. I feel that her best is behind her though and she will need every inch of her mark these days. Until Easter maybe. Semi final probable, final at best.

Dani Pike 13m 13% - I am not sure why we are voting for Pike here. If she wins the stewards would have every right to pull her in. Ordinary at Ballarat and would need to improve a full second. No chance on form and in trouble if she wins.

Michelle Young 16m 13% - Young has made a few finals and is the type of athlete who could win this one. Out in front, too far out for some of the limits and someone who would probably take the win. Finalist.

I disagree on Dani Pike Mex, with a solid second behind the rampaging Lane at Northcote beating the likes of Perry Coates and Henderson , and with a few more finals since and now out to 13m I think she should be more then competitive at Trinity. Certain finalist for mine if she runs.

Agreed. Look at Ballarat though. Heat 3 Dani was third off the same mark in a pedestrian time of 15.013. If she gets up I would expect the stewards to have something to say.

Yep Mex very poor at Ballarat but they do have these bad runs from time to time don't they ?
