The Women's 120m has some very good athletes in it and the final will be an interesting mix of front markers and some more fancied athletes. Let's take a look.
Tahlia Martin 6m 11% - Tahlia stormed away with the main dance at Stawell last season and controversy followed her. I think we have done that to death, what is great to see is that she has backed up this season from a much reduced mark and is still competitive. Nice kid. What is next for these kind of athletes? Maryborough may not be the highest priority for some of the female athletes but it could be a go or the girl from Ballarat. Should final but will not feature on the top of the dais for me.
Keely Henderson 7.25m 14% - Has to be in the mix for the win. Not sure how she will be able to hide if that is what she is trying to do. I wouldn't be after winning Stonnington and making a final at Stawell she has achieved a fair bit. A win here will allow her to possibly win a smaller open gift. All possibilities. If she does not win here watch for her at Rye.
Anna Pasquali 10.25m 14% - Anna was once the pearl of the women's sprint events. I was extremely happy to see her back to challenging form at Stawell only to fall just short. She is right in the mix here but does one more tilt at the main dance tempt her? Who knows?
Sometimes it is what you or the stewards do not see in a race that makes it more exciting. I am thinking there will be lots that some don't see in this one.
